There is a great post on forbes.com by Amy Rees Anderson about “People do Business With People They Like”.

Her message is clear and she point it out just right.

People ultimately choose to do business with people they like, and everyone likes someone who appreciates them.

Right at the beginning of her article she shares a more than true saying:

People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel.

To get liked by people is as simple as easy: Appreciate them and use the two most powerful words: “Thank you”.

She lists and explains a few tips on how to say “thank you” the best way. Tips like taking time, thank someone in an unexpexted moment and using handwirtten notes.

Her illustrating examples are picked really well.

When I´m having meetings, calls or trying to get connected with specific people the best door-opener is just to be polite and appreciative. People are willing to listen to you or even support you so much more when they feel appreciation.

A quick-read worth reading to be remembered how simple and easy everyday situations can be just by being polite and appreciative.
